Breakfast and After School Clubs

The Stewart Headlam and Hague Federation Breakfast Club offers children a friendly, caring and relaxed environment where they can enjoy their first meal of the day and stimulating activities run by support staff whilst in our care. It will also promote healthy eating and enrichment activities. Governors and teachers believe Breakfast Clubs make a significant difference to attendance and concentration in class and have a longer term impact on effective learning, progress and attainment.

The Federation Breakfast Club will be facilitated at Stewart Headlam Primary School. Stewart Headlam has a larger hall space to facilitate the children and access to the playground and amenities when required. As Stewart Headlam is a short 2-minute walk from Hague school, there will be a ‘Walking Bus’ for Hague pupils to enable them to get to school after Breakfast Club ends. The two staff members of the breakfast club will escort them to Hague school.

The purpose of Stewart Headlam and Hague’s Breakfast Club is to:

  • provide a convenient form of childcare for families in work or studying
  • address the issue of children arriving at school hungry
  • play a key role in safeguarding children’s health and well-being
  • promote good attendance
